One evening, it was turning dark and a few of us noticed that the ever-present, shining beacons-in-the-night lights were not on.  We teamed up and looked and looked for the magic button.

Looking.  Looking.  And then, there it was. Right where it might be most perfectly placed in a Monastery – to the right of Jesus.

See it there?  That little button, when pushed, ignited all the golden-orange lanterns that line like soldiers of light the monastery adobe walls and windows.  And we had to wonder, “Is it any accident that it is here, by Jesus?”

It wasn’t lost on us – it was just another little gift before bedtime.  And a reminder of Christ’s gift and promise to us all.

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” John 8:12
