The Road to Acceptance

I’ve worn these boots to walk the Pecos path for over ten years. Today I thanked and retired them.
It’s fitting that they fell apart on this trip as I also let go of Trudy’s tree – a tree I deemed and decorated as Trudy’s tree on my first visit to Our Lady of Guadalupe Monastery, All Saints Day, October 2012. Imagine my shock when I discovered that someone had cut it down!
This week’s Friday Love showed up while I protested our friends’ kind offer to buy our lunch. The waiter, who apparently had had a side conversation with our friend, looked me in the eyes, and said:

Whether it be to a new continent, a different room of worship or community, or stretching into a new way of thinking and behaving… sometimes we just have to go to know.

As with all Friday Love messages, I aim to leave room for your own heart experience. With this in mind, I intentionally left the third you in lower case in hopes that you may recall the experience of being found and met… no matter who your “you” may be.
*In this art, my you was my childhood dog, whose name was Puppy, sitting with me at the edge of the hedge while I cried in the middle of the fields. You really can be our pets, our lovers, our friends and our Creator. Love to all, always.
